Project Quantity Surveyor – Permanent Position
Position: Project Quantity Surveyor
Base Project Location: Brighton, East Sussex
Contract type: Permanent

We’re looking for an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join a busy main contractor and support an exciting building project. This is a permanent role offering long-term career progression within a company that genuinely values professional development and internal growth on a £20 million D&B scheme in Brighton.
What will you be doing
As a Quantity Surveyor, you’ll be responsible for managing the commercial aspects of the project from pre-construction through to final account. You’ll play a key role in ensuring projects are delivered within budget while maintaining high standards and strong client relationships, whilst also reporting into the Senior Surveyor.
Key Responsibilities
Managing project costs through to final accounts
Preparing cost plans, valuations, and financial reports
Procurement and negotiation of subcontractor packages
Managing subcontractor payments and variations
Monitoring project budgets and forecasting costs
Identifying, managing, and mitigating commercial risks
Handling change control and contract administration
Liaising with clients, site teams, and senior management
Ensuring projects remain commercially viable and profitable
What are they looking for
Degree or equivalent qualification in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline
Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor within building & construction
Strong knowledge of construction contracts
Excellent negotiation and financial management skills
Strong communication and organisational abilities
UK Driver’s License
