An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Commercial Property / Real Estate Development Solicitor to join a Legal 500 recognised, Lexcel accredited law firm in Reading, Thames Valley.

This role is ideal for a junior to mid-level solicitor (1–4 PQE) looking to specialise or further develop their experience in property development and housebuilding work within a highly regarded and growing team.

The Role

You will join a well-established Real Estate Development / Housebuilding team, advising a broad client base including developers, housebuilders and landowners across the Thames Valley and beyond.

This is a hands-on role offering exposure to the full development lifecycle, making it particularly attractive for solicitors looking to build a long-term career in this space.

Key Responsibilities:

• Acting on acquisitions and disposals of development land
• Advising on option agreements, promotion agreements and strategic land
• Drafting and negotiating planning agreements, infrastructure agreements and easements
• Supporting on secured lending transactions
• Handling residential plot sales
• Advising on CIL (Community Infrastructure Levy) and SDLT matters
• Supporting business development and client relationship management

About You

\n
• Qualified Solicitor (England & Wales) with 1–4 years’ PQE
• Experience in commercial property or real estate, ideally with some exposure to development or housebuilding
• Strong technical skills with attention to detail
• Commercially aware and client-focused
• Keen to work in a collaborative, supportive team environment
