Job Description
Title: Scientist - Protein Characterization
Duration: 24+ months contract
Location: Cambridge, MA 02139
Pay range: $43 -$46/hr.
Shift: Standard Business Hours
Position Summary:
• Contribute to the selection of high-quality biotherapeutic candidates through physicochemical, thermal, and colloidal stability assessments.
• Perform biophysical and analytical characterization of protein therapeutics using established methods.
• Support early discovery programs by generating and interpreting data to inform candidate selection.
• Work in a collaborative environment with opportunities for scientific growth and technical development.
Responsibilities
• Independently perform physicochemical, thermal, and colloidal stability assessment of biotherapeutic candidates using established assays.
• Critically analyze and interpret experimental data to support selection of lead biotherapeutic molecules.
• Contribute to improvement activities to increase efficiency and throughput within the group.
• Accurately document experimental procedures, results, and analyses in electronic notebook.
Qualifications
Education:
• BA/BS with 5+ years or MS with 3+ years of relevant experience in biochemistry, biophysics, or related discipline
Experience:
• Experience in protein biochemistry and stability assessment
• Familiarity with protein characterization and analytical biochemistry techniques such as aSEC, DSC, CGE, cIEF, and DLS
• Prior experience in therapeutic protein discovery and biochemistry research
• Experience with automation
Skills:
• Strong understanding of protein biochemistry and stability
• Strong attention to detail and analytical mindset
• Ability to multitask efficiently
• Excellent communication, presentation, and documentation skills
• Experience working with electronic lab notebooks
