Psychology Teaching Assistant

Location: Secondary School, Tower Hamlets
Contract: Full-time
Start Date: Immediately

We are seeking a motivated and empathetic Psychology Teaching Assistant to join our supportive and inclusive secondary school in Tower Hamlets.

This role is ideal for a psychology graduate or an individual with a strong interest in child development, mental health, and behaviour, who is passionate about supporting young people to succeed both academically and emotionally.

Key Responsibilities:

Support students' learning in lessons, small groups, and 1:1 interventions

Work with students with a range of needs, including SEN, SEMH, and wellbeing needs

Assist in delivering targeted interventions linked to behaviour, emotional regulation, and mental health

Work closely with teachers, SENCo, pastoral teams, and external professionals

Observe, record, and report on student progress and wellbeing

Promote positive behaviour, inclusion, and engagement in learning

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

A degree in Psychology or a related field (desirable)

Experience working with children or young people (school or youth setting desirable)

A calm, patient, and empathetic approach

Strong communication and teamwork skills

A genuine interest in educational psychology, mental health, or teaching

A commitment to safeguarding and student wellbeing
