Job Description

We are recruiting a Purchasing Manager to join a global food ingredients manufacturer, part of a large international group supplying essential products to the bakery and food production sectors worldwide.


This is a key leadership role responsible for driving procurement performance, delivering cost savings, and ensuring supply continuity across multiple spend categories including ingredients, packaging, equipment, and services.


Key responsibilities:


  • Develop and deliver the annual purchasing strategy aligned to group objectives
  • Identify and implement cost-saving and value improvement initiatives
  • Negotiate and manage supplier agreements to ensure quality, continuity, and value
  • Monitor commodity markets and manage supply risk
  • Lead and develop the purchasing team
  • Drive procurement best practice, compliance, and e-procurement adoption
  • Track and report on savings, supplier performance, and key KPIs


We’re looking for:


  • Proven procurement experience within food, FMCG, or manufacturing
  • Strong commercial acumen and negotiation capability
  • Experience managing suppliers across complex or commodity-driven categories
  • Ability to influence stakeholders across operations, technical, and commercial teams
  • CIPS qualification (desirable)


Salary: £70,000 – £75,000 + bonus + strong benefits.
