We are recruiting for a Qualified Quantity Surveyor to join an expanding business with offices in Yorkshire and the North East. This is a busy, hands-on role working alongside another QS.
Responsibilities:
Conducting feasibility studies to determine project viability
Preparing cost estimates, budgets, and detailed Bills of Quantities (BOQ)
Managing the tender process, selecting contractors, and negotiating contracts
Monitoring, controlling, and reporting on project costs to prevent budget overruns
Valuing completed work and approving payments to subcontractors and suppliers
Managing contractual risks, variations, and disputes
Liaising with architects, engineers, and clients
Ensuring compliance with health, safety, and building regulations
Advising on sustainability, life cycle costs, and value management
Candidate Requirements:
Excellent organisational and time management skills
Attention to detail and ability to work accurately under pressure
Proactive, motivated, and able to work independently as well as part of a team
