Quality Calibration Engineer

Our client specializes in manufacturing different gearing systems. They are currently looking for an experienced Quality Calibration Engineer to join their team. This is an excellent opportunity to take ownership of calibrated equipment across the business, ensuring compliance with aerospace standards and maintaining robust quality and calibration systems. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting audits, driving continuous improvement, and maintaining strong relationships with both internal teams and external customers.
Key Responsibilities
Manage and maintain all calibrated equipment across the business, including coordinating internal and external calibration activities. Support and maintain the Quality Management System in line with aerospace standards and customer requirements. Assist in planning and conducting internal audits, ensuring non-conformances are effectively addressed and closed out. Support customer audit activities and respond to customer quality requirements and enquiries. Process and investigate supplier and customer non-conformances, ensuring timely and effective resolution. Lead problem-solving and root cause analysis activities, implementing corrective and preventative actions. Analyse internal quality trends to support continuous improvement initiatives. Work closely with production and cross-functional teams to maintain quality standards and support on-time delivery. Communicate with customer quality representatives regarding quality matters and investigations. Support and adapt to changes in standards, policies, processes, and products.
Candidate Requirements
Proven experience working with calibration systems and calibrated equipment in a manufacturing or engineering environment. Good understanding of EN_9100 and its requirements (3 years minimum) Experience within a manufacturing environment, with exposure to quality assurance and compliance activities. Strong problem-solving skills with a focus on root cause analysis and corrective actions. Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
Benefits and hours
Hours: 40 hours/week, Monday – Thursday, 07:00 – 15:45, Friday 06:00 – 13:00 Holiday: 33 days annual holiday (including bank and public holidays) Group life cover: 4x current basic annual salary Enhanced maternity/paternity leave and pay Pension: salary sacrifice with Royal London (ER contribution after 3 months is 3%; employee minimum contribution is 5%)
