Location: Inverness, Scotland
Salary: £50,000 – £60,000 + Benefits

About the Company
Our client is a leading civil engineering contractor delivering a wide range of infrastructure and construction projects across the Highlands and Scotland. With a strong reputation for quality, safety, and innovation, they are seeking a skilled Quality Engineer to support the successful delivery of key projects in the Inverness region.
The Role
The Quality Engineer will play a vital role in ensuring that all works are carried out in accordance with project specifications, industry standards, and regulatory requirements. Working closely with site and project teams, you will oversee quality assurance processes, drive continuous improvement, and ensure compliance across all stages of project delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and maintain project-specific Quality Plans and Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs)
- Conduct site inspections and audits to ensure compliance with specifications, drawings, and quality standards
- Manage and review Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS) to ensure quality requirements are embedded
- Oversee and manage Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs), ensuring timely close-out and corrective actions
- Liaise with site teams, subcontractors, and clients to ensure quality expectations are clearly communicated and met
- Maintain accurate quality records, documentation, and reporting systems
- Support internal and external audits, including ISO 9001 compliance
- Identify areas for improvement and support the implementation of best practices across projects
- Provide guidance and support to operational teams on quality-related matters
Candidate Requirements
- Proven experience as a Quality Engineer within civil engineering or construction
- Strong understanding of QA/QC processes within infrastructure or civils projects
- Experience in developing and managing ITPs, NCRs, and quality documentation
- Knowledge of ISO 9001 standards and audit processes
- Experience reviewing and working with RAMS
- Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
- Strong communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with site teams and stakeholders
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and quality management systems
- Full UK driving licence
