Job Description
Aerospace Quality Engineer
Location: Essex
Employment Type: Full-Time
Working Hours: Monday – Thursday: 08:00 – 17:00 (30-minute unpaid lunch) Friday: 07:30 – 12:30
Salary: £40,000 – £45,000 per annum
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Aerospace Quality Engineer to join our growing team. This is a critical role within the business, responsible for maintaining compliance with aerospace quality standards and driving continuous improvement across our operations.
You will play a key part in ensuring products and processes meet stringent aerospace and customer requirements, working closely with cross-functional teams to resolve quality issues and enhance overall performance.
Key Responsibilities
Perform internal audits of processes and procedures to ensure compliance with AS9100 and customer-specific requirements.
Investigate and resolve customer rejections, implementing effective and sustainable corrective actions.
Conduct root cause analysis and manage corrective actions arising from audits, non-conformances, and quality issues.
Manage internal non-conformance reports (NCRs) and collaborate with production, engineering, and other departments to resolve issues.
Support and drive quality improvement initiatives to reduce defects and improve operational performance.
Skills & Experience
Proven engineering experience, ideally within an aerospace or highly regulated manufacturing environment.
Strong working knowledge of aerospace quality standards, including AS9100 and AS9102.
Experience conducting internal audits and applying structured root cause analysis tools such as 8D, Fishbone, and 5 Whys.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence and work effectively across departments.
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
