Quality Engineer

Meridian Business Support are recruiting on behalf of our client in Luton for an experienced Quality Engineer to join their Operations Quality team. This is a temporary role with strong likelihood of extension and an opportunity to go permanent for the right person.

The Role

Working within a regulated aerospace & defence environment, you’ll act as a Quality focal point supporting in-service and returns material activities at IPT level.

Weekly structure:

2 days – MRB meetings: reviewing units, identifying risks, entering data into SAP, Matlab & Excel
1.5 days – Post-MRB investigations and documentation updates
1.5 days – Preparing for the next MRB cycleTraining can be provided on systems, but strong quality knowledge is essential.

Key Responsibilities
Support Quality Manager and Principal Quality Engineer
Investigate non-conformances (root cause & corrective action)
Review and approve returns, concessions and repair documentation
Ensure traceability and configuration control
Liaise with Engineering, Supply Chain, Operations and suppliers
Ensure compliance with AS9100 / ISO9001
Provide quality reports and support continuous improvementWhat We’re Looking For Essential:

Experience in a similar Quality role
Strong understanding of quality principles and risk identification
Ability to translate engineering requirements into structured tasks
Excellent attention to detail
Strong interpersonal skills – confident with shop floor and senior stakeholders
Analytical, logical thinkerDesirable:

Aerospace & defence background
Experience with SAP, Matlab, ExcelYou’ll be confident, proactive and able to challenge appropriately, while remaining supportive and collaborative.
