Quality Engineer – Welding & Fabrication\nManchester\nSalary: circa £45,000 - £48,000 + benefits\n\nThis is an excellent opportunity to join a leading engineering business based in Manchester as a Quality Engineer.\n\nTHE ROLE\nAs Quality Engineer you will be reporting into the Quality Manager and will have a strong problem-solving focus to the role. You will be working closely with the manufacturing team to identify non-conformance issues, identify root cause and put in place corrective actions.\nYou will also be a key member of the company’s continuous improvement program and will tasked with reducing waste and reducing the scrap rate.\n\nTHE PERSON\nThe successful candidate will be an experienced Quality Engineer with a strong automotive / lead manufacturing background. With the business embarking on a major continuous improvement programme, candidates with six-sigma green belt or black belt will have a distinct advantage.
You will also be fully conversant with fishbone/ishikawa, 8D and 5Y methodology. Finally, as this is a role supporting the manufacturing operation, you will ideally have goods hands on engineering experience.\n\nTHE COMPANY\nAfter three years of steady growth this business is now expanding its operation in Manchester and is embarking on a major change and continuous improvement program.
