A well-established engineering business near South Queensferry is hiring a Quality Engineer with experience in a highly regulated, heavy engineering environment.The documentation exists. The ISO 9001:2015 certification exists. What's needed now is someone to make the whole thing actually work on the shop floor, Inspection & Test Plans, Control Plans, Work Instructions and QC gates that reflect how skilled people do skilled work, not how auditors like to see it written up.Beyond the documentation, you'll take ownership of NCR/CAPA, lead root cause investigations using 8D and 5-Why, introduce process-level FMEAs, and build quality dashboards that drive decisions rather than decorate walls. You'll also spend meaningful time with technicians, coaching workmanship standards, embedding first-off checks, and making quality something the workshop owns rather than tolerates.This is a role with genuine autonomy and visible impact. The person who takes it will leave a mark on how this business operates.
