Job Overview:
Our client is seeking a Quality Inspector to support the verification and inspection of customer parts within the business. This role is key to supporting company targets, goals and objectives through the inspection and approval of manufactured product.
The successful candidate will play an active role within the Quality department, ensuring products meet specifications and supporting production in identifying and troubleshooting quality issues. This position offers the opportunity to contribute positively to continuous improvement initiatives within the business.
Working Hours: Days (Monday - Wednesday 07:00 - 17:00 // Thursday 07:00 - 16:30) Earlier (Monday - Wednesday 06:00 - 16:00 // Thursday 06:00 - 15:30) Lates (Monday - Wednesday 13:00 - 23:00 // Thursday 13:00 - 22:30)
Duties:
Inspection and verification of manufactured product using handheld measuring equipment, vision systems, Co-ordinate Measuring Machines (CMMs) and other associated inspection equipment.
Program and run CNC CMM equipment to support dimensional verification activities.
Produce First Article Inspection Reports (FAIRs) in line with customer and business requirements.
Support production in identifying issues, troubleshooting problems and advising on best practise measurement techniques.
Train and advise operators in specific quality techniques to ensure compliance with specifications and drawings.
Maintain a good understanding of subcontract treatments when reviewing and approving components.
Positively contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the business.
This role regularly requires long periods of sitting and standing and use of hands to operate electronic equipment. Occasional lifting of materials and products may also be required.
Qualifications
Experience of quality approvals within the Aerospace (or similar) industries.
Capability of understanding specifications and engineering drawings.
CNC CMM capability program and run.
Good understanding of all measuring equipment within the department, including micrometers, verniers, height gauges, screw measuring equipment, vision systems and projector/shadowgraph systems.
Understanding of subcontract treatments.
Ability to communicate professionally (excellent listening skills, verbal, written and telephone communication) at all levels, internally and externally.
Good analytical and problem solving skills with strong customer focus.
Self-motivated with the ability to work with limited supervision, whilst also working effectively within a team.
Good time management skills and interpersonal skills.
