About You
The Quality Inspector supports manufacturing operations by ensuring that materials, components and finished products meet defined requirements and that production procedures are followed consistently. Working closely with the Quality, Production and Purchasing teams, you will identify defects early, prevent escapes to customers and promote a culture of building in quality rather than end of line inspection.
Key Responsibilities - Quality Inspector - Waterbech Cambridge
• Select samples and carry out inspections using dimensional measurement, functional testing and specification comparison
• Perform patrol and stage inspections and remove non conforming items from production
• Investigate defects and support containment and corrective actions
• Create and maintain inspection records, measurements and traceability data
• Maintain quality metrics including defects, rework and non conformances
• Support root cause analysis and continuous improvement activities
• Ensure compliance with ESD, FOD and COSHH requirements
• Carry out ESD floor and mat testing and monitor cleanroom conditions
• Manage and carry out calibration of inspection equipment, torque tools and gauges
Required Skills and Experience - Quality Inspector - Waterbech Cambridge
• Experience in a Quality Inspector or manufacturing quality role
• Knowledge of quality control standards and inspection methodologies
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications
• Basic soldering and inspection skills to IPC standards
• Knowledge of ISO 9001, with ISO 9001:2015 internal audit experience desirable
• Competent in MS Office with the ability to produce clear reports
• Strong communication, problem solving and decision making skills
