Quality Manager (Manufacturing) - Bristol (on-site)
This is a standout opportunity for a Quality Manager who wants real autonomy to shape 'what good looks like' and embed a quality-first culture with genuine backing from a supportive senior leadership team. You'll take ownership of a practical, modern QMS and lead the cultural shift so quality is how decisions are made day-to-day, not a box-ticking exercise. If you enjoy being visible on the shopfloor, coaching teams, and turning data and problem-solving into better customer outcomes, this role gives you the platform (and the air cover) to make lasting change.
What you'll be doing
Lead the development, implementation and continuous improvement of the Quality Management System (QMS), keeping it usable and adopted across the business.
Act as a change agent: build engagement, accountability, transparency and strong quality behaviours at every level.
Define and embed robust inspection and test approaches, ensuring processes and products consistently meet customer and internal standards.
Drive structured problem solving and continuous improvement (root cause, CAPA/8D, FMEA, Lean, SPC), turning issues into learning and prevention.
Build meaningful KPIs/dashboards and use data to improve performance and decision-making.
Lead internal/external audits and supplier performance reviews, ensuring actions are closed effectively.
Assess training needs, develop capability (including skills matrices), and coach/mentor the quality team and wider stakeholders.
Partner cross-functionally (manufacturing, design, aftercare, sales/product) to translate customer expectations into operational reality.
Support the journey toward ISO 9001 readiness when the business is ready.
What we're looking for
Proven experience as a Quality Manager or in a senior quality leadership role within a manufacturing environment.
Strong, hands-on knowledge of QMS design and implementation (making systems that work in practice).
Track record of leading cultural change and influencing stakeholders without relying on hierarchy.
Solid CI / problem-solving toolkit (e.g., 8D, CAPA, FMEA, Lean, SPC, root cause).
Confident communicator who can coach, present, and bring people with you.
Data-driven mindset with the ability to build clarity from metrics and translate that into action.
