Job Description
Quality Whole Vehicle Reliability Technical Manager
Contract: Until 31/12/2026
Hours: 37 per week
Location: Crewe (Hybrid – minimum 3 days onsite per week)
Travel: Occasional international travel to Europe
Driving licence required
IR35 Status: Inside IR35
Overview
We are seeking a Quality Whole Vehicle Reliability Technical Manager to work with data management systems and Infotainment to raise and review any potential concerns and future issues.
As a Quality Whole Vehicle Reliability Technical Manager, you will be responding to concerns that are raised by the testing stations. This will include developing clear problem statements through detailed investigations. The role is supporting with Product launches and testing cars before launch
Key Responsibilities of a Quality Whole Vehicle Reliability Technical Manager:
Strong capability in whole vehicle assessment, with the ability to evaluate issues at the system and vehicle level Ability to lead cross-functional, complex problem-solving teams Strong capability to influence technical problem owners and suppliers within VW across areas of responsibility Comprehensive understanding of the Product Emergence Process Ability to apply an understanding of customer behaviour and expectations to define and refine vehicle test and validation requirements Excellent teamworking and influencing skills, with the ability to use data-driven insights to drive alignment and decisions
Skills & Experience
Demonstrable knowledge and experience of infotainment systems and vehicle data capture, ideally supported by an electrical engineering background Highly developed technical, analytical, and structured problem-solving skills Proven ability to clearly present and communicate complex technical issues to a wide range of stakeholders, including senior leadership and Board-level audiences Advanced knowledge of vehicle development and industrialisation processes within area of technical specialism Proven experience in gathering, analysing, and interpreting vehicle electrical network data to identify root cause and drive resolution
Qualifications
Degree in an Engineering discipline or equivalent experience (essential). Higher engineering qualification (master’s or equivalent) is advantageous. Driving licence required.

This role is deemed inside of IR35. The Umbrella Pay Rate offered is inclusive of the Assignment pay rate, holiday pay and Apex Recruitment’s contribution towards Employer Costs.
