Responsibilities and duties of the Quantity Surveyor & Estimator role Reporting to the Operations Director you will: Lead commercial management of EPC solar projects from contract award through to final account Manage contract administration including NEC/JCT/EPC terms, risk identification, and change control Prepare valuations, applications for payment, invoices, and monthly commercial reporting Manage subcontractor accounts including payments, variations, claims, and final accounts Track project costs, forecasts, cash flow, and overall commercial performance Manage variations, EOTs, compensation events, and wider change control processes Prepare and agree final accounts with clients and subcontractors Support estimating and tendering activities including take-offs, pricing, and supplier/subcontractor liaison Contribute to value engineering, risk allowances, and bid commercial reviews Attend meetings and conduct site visits to support valuations, progress tracking, and stakeholder engagement Professional qualifications We are looking for someone with the following: Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, or similar (or equivalent experience) Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor within EPC, construction, infrastructure, or renewable energy projects Strong experience with UK construction contracts (NEC, JCT, or EPC agreements) Experience managing monthly valuations, subcontractor claims, and cost forecasting Exposure to estimating or tendering processes Experience within solar PV, utilities, or energy infrastructure projects is highly desirable RICS chartership (or working towards) would be an advantage Personal skills The Quantity Surveyor & Estimator role would suit someone who is: Commercially astute with strong financial and contractual awareness Analytical and detail-oriented with a strong numerical mindset Confident working across multiple stakeholders and teams Organised with excellent time management and prioritisation skills Able to work independently and manage workload effectively Strong communicator with good negotiation and interpersonal skills Comfortable working in both office and site-based environments across the UK Salary and benefits of the Quantity & Estimator role Salary up to £65,000 Car Allowance Training and Continuous Professional Development Flexible hybrid working (where applicable) Life Insurance Health Insurance Cycle to Work Scheme LI-MN1 INDREN Astute People are acting as an employment agency in relation to this vacancy.
