Job Description
Your new company
You will be joining a highly respected and well-established civil engineering contractor based in Cardiff operating within the water industry. This multi-accredited contractor has a strong pipeline of work directly with Welsh Water as part of their AMP8/AMP9 programme and offers excellent opportunities for career progression and professional development. Their commitment to delivering an exceptional standard of work has positioned them as a leader in the industry and, as part of their continued growth, they are actively seeking a Quantity Surveyor to join their commercial team.
This is a full-time permanent position based out of their Cardiff office with hybrid working.
Your new role
As Quantity Surveyor, you'll play a key role in the commercial management of water infrastructure projects, ensuring work is delivered efficiently, safely and within budget.
Your responsibilities will include:
Conducting measurements and valuations
Preparing and negotiating interim valuations and final accounts
Monitoring and reviewing the financial performance of contracts
Providing project performance reports to senior management
Communicating with clients regarding project performance
Ensuring timely customer payments within contract terms
Procuring subcontractors and managing subcontractor accounts
Pricing projects before contract agreement.
What you'll need to succeed
In order to be successful, you must have:
Degree/HNC/HND in Quantity Surveying (or similar) or experience equivalent
Experience as an Assistant Quantity Surveyor or Quantity Surveyor within heavy civils (water, highways, rail, renewables or utilities industries)
Sound working knowledge of NEC form of contract
Excellent communication, interpersonal and organisational skills
Strong commitment to safety
Full UK driving licence.
