Quantity Surveyor – Major Civils Package | Residential Development (Edinburgh) Attractive Salary | Pension Scheme | Flexible Working | Long-Term Project Your new company This is an exciting opportunity to join a leading residential builder developer with a strong track record of delivering high-quality housing across Scotland. Known for their commitment to excellence, innovation, and sustainability, the company is embarking on a major residential development in Edinburgh that will span the next five years. Your new role As Quantity Surveyor, you will take ownership of a substantial civils package within this flagship residential development. Your responsibilities will include:
Managing budgets, forecasts, and cost control for groundworks and infrastructure
Overseeing subcontractor procurement and contract administration
Supporting project delivery teams with commercial insight and risk management
Liaising with consultants, engineers, and site teams to ensure value and compliance
Reporting on financial performance and contributing to strategic planning
This is a high-impact role with visibility across the business and the opportunity to shape a major development from the ground up. What you'll need to succeed To be successful, you’ll bring:
Proven experience in quantity surveying, ideally with civils or infrastructure packages
Strong commercial acumen and contract knowledge (NEC or JCT)
Excellent communication and negotiation skills
A proactive and detail-oriented approach
Relevant qualifications in Quantity Surveying or Construction Management
