Manilva Contracts Ltd is an established decorating/refurbishment company working with projects in and around London for over 30 years. We are looking for an experienced Quantity Surveyor to fit into our close-knit, friendly and sociable company. The right candidate will need to have PROVEN experience in the decorating/refurbishment industry which is essential for this role. Job Overview: Our sites/projects are in and around London so the role of Quantity Surveyor in our company means you will based in the Caterham office when not visiting sites. You will be responsible for managing the costs and ensuring the financial success of each of our projects. Your expertise in cost control and project management will contribute to the overall success of our business. Responsibilities: · Evaluate contracts upon receipt of tender · Assess and negotiate competitive price with subcontractors · Execute tender return in timely manner · Act as point of contact for clients on contractual matters · Maintain contract records and documents and keep a watch over budget cost throughout project · Provide guidance on contract matters to project managers · Advise Site foreman/labour if specialist requirements are needed · Attend Management meetings and feedback any relevant information in order to learn where necessary from issues. Identify areas of recurrent pressure · Work with Office Manager to ensure project comes in under budget · Ensure practical completion · Carry out valuations on time · Check and sign off on subcontractor invoices and liaise with accounts department as to subcontractor payment · Provide client with a programme of works Skills: - Strong knowledge of cost control principles and practices - Excellent numerical and analytical skills - Solid understanding of construction methods, materials, and CDM regulations - Must have decoration/refurbishment experience within the construction industry - Strong communication and negotiation skills - Ability to work independently and as part of a team - You will be required to visit sites in and around London - Attention to detail and accuracy Benefits: Performance Bonus Company Vehicle Travel Expenses Company pension On-site parking 25 days holiday plus bank holidays Annual Pay Reviews Continual Professional Development through relevant training programmes provided for by Manilva Contracts Ltd Working Hours: Monday to Friday Education: Level 4 or Level 6 () Experience: surveying: 5 years in the construction industry (preferably decoration/refurbishments) Licence/Certification: Driving Licence () NO AGENCIES PLEASE
