Quantity Surveyor | Social Housing Projects | Croydon\nAre you an ambitious Quantity Surveyor with strong main contracting experience? This is an opportunity to join a leading contractor with a long-standing reputation for delivering social housing framework schemes across London and the South East. You’ll play a key role in ensuring projects are commercially successful, while developing your career in a business that invests in its people.\nWhat You’ll Be Doing (The Role)\n * Prepare budgets and manage target costs to achieve agreed profit margins.\n * Lead subcontractor procurement, managing packages to programme.\n * Oversee valuations, applications for payment, claims, and final accounts.\n * Manage client-side cost reporting and contractual correspondence.\n * Prepare financial forecasts, monthly reconciliations, and commercial reports.\n * Provide advice and input into value engineering exercises.\n * Contribute to contractual claims and insurance reports.\n * Support and, where required, mentor junior surveyors within the team.\nAbout You\n * Qualified in Quantity Surveying (HNC/D or degree level).\n * Member of (or working towards membership of) a professional institute.\n * Experienced in main contractor QS responsibilities across social housing schemes.\n * Confident in using JCT, NEC, and ACA contracts.\n * Excellent commercial, analytical, and organisational skills.\n * Strong communication skills – able to work effectively with clients, consultants, and subcontractors.\n * Proactive, detail-focused, and committed to continuous development.\nAbout the Company\nThis contractor has built its reputation on delivering general contracting projects with an emphasis on quality, innovation, and sustainability.
