Job Description
Quantity Surveyor \n \nResponsibilities \n \n The core responsibility is to carefully estimate costs, calculate material needs and map out project timelines. You will liaise closely with all teams to keep the projects on track. \n \nDay-to-day, you will: \n \n- Consult with clients to understand their requirements \n- Conduct feasibility studies to vet proposed projects \n- Calculate quantities and costs for materials, labour, timeframes \n- Prepare tender packages and contracts, including bills of quantities \n- Manage risk, value engineering and cost control measures \n- Analyse repair/maintenance costs \n- Negotiate contracts and schedules \n- Oversee and value subcontractors' work for payments \n- Ensure compliance with regulations and quality standards \n- Continually assess value for the client's investment \n- Analyse outcomes and provide budget/progress reports \n- Advise on claims, disputes and any contractual issues \n- Assist with securing project funding \n- Help initiate new construction projects \n- Business Development \n \nYou will also need a well-rounded skill set: \n- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities \n- Strong maths, numerical and data analysis skills \n- Outstanding interpersonal and relationship-building talents \n- Creative, analytical thinking and problem-solving mindset \n- Proficiency with technology and surveying software \n- Project management capabilities \n- Ability to thrive under pressure and use initiative \n- Resilience and determination \n- Teamwork and motivational skills \n- Understanding of engineering and construction principles \n- Commercial awareness \n- Team Leadership \nQualifications/Experience \n \n- IT skills, including Microsoft suite, measurement software \n- Degree in Quantity Surveying \n- Member of the Chartered Institute of Chartered Surveyors \n- Ideally a minimum of 5 years experience
