Futures is working with one of the largest and most respected construction employers in the East Riding who are looking to recruit an experienced Quantity Surveyor. This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established, financially robust organisation delivering high-profile projects across commercial, residential, education, healthcare, and infrastructure sectors. They are seeking a commercially astute and driven Quantity Surveyor who can contribute to the successful financial delivery of projects from pre-construction through to final account.
The Role
As Quantity Surveyor, you will take responsibility for the commercial management of construction projects, ensuring financial efficiency, contractual compliance, and risk mitigation. You will work closely with project managers, site teams, subcontractors, and senior commercial leadership to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget.
Roles and Responsibilities
Managing project costs from tender stage through to final account
Preparing and reviewing cost plans, budgets, and cash flow forecasts
Procurement and negotiation of subcontract packages
Administration of contracts (JCT / NEC forms)
Valuations, variations, and interim payment applications
Cost reporting and commercial forecasting
Managing subcontractor accounts and final accounts
Identifying and mitigating commercial risks
Supporting dispute resolution where required
Ensuring compliance with company commercial procedures
The Ideal Candidate
Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or Commercial Management
Proven experience working within a main contractor environment
Strong knowledge of JCT and/or NEC contracts
Experience managing projects independently
Excellent negotiation and communication skills
Strong commercial awareness and financial acumen
Full UK driving licence
MRICS qualified or working towards chartership
Experience working on large-scale or multi-site projects
Experience within public sector frameworks
