Job Description

We are working with a well-established regional contractor that is looking to appoint an experienced Freelance Quantity Surveyor or Senior Quantity Surveyor to support a varied pipeline of projects across Yorkshire.\n\nThis opportunity would suit either a strong QS ready to step into a broader role or an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor, supporting a mix of residential, commercial and industrial schemes. The role offers a flexible working arrangement combining site-based, office-based and home working.\n\nThe Role\n\nYou will provide commercial support across multiple live projects, working closely with project teams to ensure effective cost control, commercial reporting and contractual compliance throughout the project lifecycle.\n\nKey Responsibilities\n\nCommercial management of projects from pre-construction through to final account\n\nPreparing and managing cost plans, budgets and forecasts\n\nProcurement of subcontract packages and negotiation of terms\n\nValuations, variations, change control and cost reporting\n\nManaging subcontractor accounts and payment applications\n\nAssisting with final accounts and commercial close-out\n\nWorking collaboratively with site, design and senior management teams\n\nSupporting multiple schemes across different sectors as required\n\nAbout You\n\nExperience operating as a Quantity Surveyor or Senior Quantity Surveyor within a main contractor environment\n\nBackground across residential, commercial and/or industrial projects\n\nSolid understanding of construction contracts and commercial best practice\n\nAble to manage multiple workstreams and stakeholders effectively\n\nComfortable working flexibly across site, office and home locations\n\nRequirements\n\nDegree -qualified in Quantity Surveying \n\nStrong UK main contractor experience\n\nAvailable to start in February\n\nWhat's on Offer\n\nCompetitive freelance day rate (dependent on level and experience)\n\nLong -term contract potential\n\nFlexible working split (site / office / home)\n\nExposure to a strong and varied project pipeline across Yorkshire\n\nOpportunity to work with a stable, well-regarded regional contractor\n\nIf you're a Freelance QS or SQS looking for a flexible role supporting a range of quality schemes across Yorkshire, this is an excellent opportunity to consider
