Job Title: Freelance Quantity Surveyor\nLocation: Manchester\nRate: Competitive Day Rate (DOE)\nDuration: Long-Term Contract\nStart Date: Immediate / Short Notice\n\nAbout the Company\n\nWe are recruiting on behalf of a respected regional building contractor based in Manchester, delivering high-quality construction projects across the North West. The business has built an excellent reputation for quality, reliability and repeat business, specialising in schemes up to £15 million.\n\nTypical projects include:\n\n * \n\n Heritage refurbishment schemes\n\n * \n\n Residential new builds\n\n * \n\n Education projects\n\n * \n\n Healthcare developments\n\nDue to a strong order book and continued growth, they are seeking an experienced Freelance Senior Quantity Surveyor for long-term contract work.\n\nThe Role\n\nAs Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will take full commercial responsibility for projects from pre-construction through to final account. You will work closely with the Commercial Director and operational teams to ensure financial control and contractual compliance across a variety of project types.\n\nKey Responsibilities\n\n * \n\n Full commercial management of projects up to £15M\n\n * \n\n Contract administration under JCT forms of contract\n\n * \n\n Cost planning, procurement and subcontractor management\n\n * \n\n Managing valuations, variations and change control\n\n * \n\n Risk management and cost reporting\n\n * \n\n Preparation and agreement of interim applications and final accounts\n\n * \n\n Client and consultant liaison\n\nRequirements\n\n * \n\n Proven experience as a Senior Quantity Surveyor with a main contractor\n\n * \n\n Strong working knowledge of JCT contracts (essential)\n\n * \n\n Experience delivering projects up to £10M\n\n * \n\n Background across heritage, residential, education or healthcare schemes \n\n * \n\n Strong negotiation and commercial reporting skills\n\n * \n\n Available to start at short notice\n\nWhat’s On Offer\n\n * \n\n Long-term freelance opportunity\n\n * \n\n Secure pipeline of regional projects\n\n * \n\n Competitive day rate\n\n * \n\n Opportunity to work with a highly regarded regional contractor\n\nIf you are an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor available at short notice and looking for a long-term freelance role in Preston, we would welcome your application
