Role Overview: We are recruiting a Quantity Surveyor on a contract basis to support the commercial management of mechanical and building services works on a large-scale hospital development in Bournemouth. Reporting into the Commercial Director, you will be responsible for monitoring costs, managing subcontractor valuations, and ensuring projects remain on budget and financially controlled throughout the delivery phase. This is a site-based contract role suited to an experienced Quantity Surveyor with healthcare or complex M&E project experience, who can work autonomously and provide commercial expertise to the project team. Key Responsibilities: • Manage the commercial aspects of mechanical and building services works on site. • Monitor costs, produce monthly CVRs, forecasts and cashflow reports. • Review subcontractor applications for payment, variations, and final accounts. • Support the project team with cost advice, risk management, and budget tracking. • Liaise with contractors, consultants, and the client regarding commercial matters. • Maintain accurate records and provide regular updates on financial performance. • Assist with contract administration under NEC / JCT or equivalent agreements. • Ensure all work complies with contractual obligations and company policies. Skills & Experience Required: • Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor on M&E or building services projects. • Experience on healthcare or hospital developments highly desirable. • Familiarity with NEC / JCT contracts and commercial reporting processes. • Strong understanding of subcontractor valuation, variation management, and budget control. • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills. • Strong organisational skills with the ability to work independently on site. • Full UK driving licence. • Right to work in the UK and ability to complete a DBS check if required.
