Job Description

Synergy Personnel Ltd are currently recruiting for a Quantity Surveyor – Residential New Build & Conversion Project (Near Portsmouth, Hampshire)\n\nA respected regional developer is seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to support the commercial delivery of a mixed residential new build and conversion project near Portsmouth, Hampshire. This is a 15‑month direct contract with the client, offering a key commercial role on a high‑quality scheme.\n\nThe Role\n\nYou’ll be responsible for:\n\n * \n\n Managing commercial duties from procurement through to final accounts\n\n * \n\n Preparing and reviewing cost plans, valuations, and financial reports\n\n * \n\n Procuring subcontractors and managing ongoing commercial relationships\n\n * \n\n Monitoring project costs, variations, and contractual compliance\n\n * \n\n Working closely with the Site and Project Management teams to ensure financial control\n\n * \n\n Working within a team of Surveyors and reporting to a Senior Quantity Surveyor based on site\n\n * \n\n Supporting the client with accurate forecasting and cost‑to‑complete analysis\n\nAbout You\n\nYou’ll excel in this role if you:\n\n * \n\n Have proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor on residential projects\n\n * \n\n Understand the commercial demands of both new build and conversion schemes\n\n * \n\n Are confident managing procurement, cost control, and contract administration\n\n * \n\n Bring strong analytical skills and a proactive, detail‑driven approach\n\n * \n\n Communicate clearly and build strong working relationships with project teams and subcontractors\n\nPackage & Contract\n\n * \n\n 15‑month direct contract with the client\n\n * \n\n Salary: £60,000 – £70,000, depending on experience\n\n * \n\n Opportunity to play a key commercial role on a standout residential development\n\nIf you’re a commercially astute Quantity Surveyor looking for a hands‑on role with real responsibility, this project offers an excellent opportunity to make an impact
