We are seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join a growing construction team delivering high‑quality new build student accommodation projects. This is a fantastic opportunity for a commercially driven QS who wants to take ownership of project costs, procurement, and financial performance on large‑scale, modern developments.
The Role
As Quantity Surveyor, you will oversee the full commercial lifecycle of new build projects within the student accommodation sector. Working closely with the construction and pre‑construction teams, you will ensure projects are delivered on budget, with strong cost control and effective procurement strategies from start to completion.
Key Responsibilities
Manage all commercial aspects of new build student accommodation projects
Prepare cost plans, BOQs, valuations, and final accounts
Oversee procurement, tendering, and subcontractor negotiations
Monitor project budgets, cash flow, and commercial risk
Manage variations, change control, and contractual obligations
Work closely with site teams to ensure accurate cost reporting
Build strong relationships with clients, consultants, and subcontractors
Contribute to continuous improvement in commercial processes
Requirements
Experience as a Quantity Surveyor on new build projects (student accommodation experience is advantageous)
Strong commercial awareness and understanding of construction contracts
Confident managing multiple packages and project values
Exceptional communication, negotiation, and analytical skills
Ability to work independently while supporting wider project teams
Degree in Quantity Surveying or related discipline ()
