Job Description

Quantity Surveyor\n\nLocation: Stoke-on-Trent (with regional travel)\nSector: Industrial / Commercial Construction\nSalary: Up to £65,000 + Car Allowance + Benefits\n\nThe Company\n\nA well-established Tier 2 main contractor with a strong presence across the Midlands, delivering high-quality industrial and commercial construction projects. With a strong pipeline of work, the business is looking to appoint a Quantity Surveyor to support the commercial delivery of key schemes.\n\nThe Role\n\nAs Quantity Surveyor, you will support the commercial management of large industrial build projects, typically ranging from £5m-£30m in value. Working alongside a Senior QS or Commercial Manager, you will play a key role in ensuring projects are delivered within budget while maintaining strong cost control and contractual compliance.\n\nKey Responsibilities\n\nAssist in the commercial management of projects from tender through to final account\nSupport the preparation of budgets, cost plans, and financial forecasts\nAssist with procurement of subcontractor packages\nMeasure, value, and manage subcontractor works and payments\nSupport the administration of contracts (JCT / NEC)\nMonitor project costs and identify potential risks and opportunities\nAssist in the management of variations and change control processes\nPrepare regular cost reports and support senior commercial staff\nBuild and maintain relationships with clients, consultants, and subcontractors \n\nRequirements\n\nExperience as a Quantity Surveyor or Assistant QS within a main contractor\nExposure to industrial / commercial construction projects\nExperience working on projects typically £5m+\nBasic knowledge of JCT and/or NEC contracts\nGood commercial awareness and attention to detail\nStrong communication and organisational skills\nDegree qualified in Quantity Surveying or similar (or equivalent experience) \n\nDesirable\n\nExperience working for a Tier 1 or Tier 2 contractor\nExposure to Design & Build projects\nWorking towards professional accreditation (RICS or similar) \n\nWhat's on Offer\n\nCompetitive salary and benefits package\nCar allowance / company car\nExposure to large-scale industrial developments\nClear career progression to Senior Quantity Surveyor\nSupportive and collaborative team environment \n\nApply\n\nIf you are a motivated Quantity Surveyor looking to develop your career within a growing Tier 2 contractor delivering major industrial projects, we would like to hear from you.\n\nPlease send your CV to (url removed)
