A leading independent construction consultancy specialising in commercial and residential developments is currently looking for an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join their growing team in Central London. Operating in a client-side capacity, this consultancy has built a reputation for delivering high-quality developments across the capital.
This is an excellent opportunity for a Quantity Surveyor looking to take the next step in their career, working on a diverse portfolio of projects ranging from mixed-use developments to bespoke commercial refurbishments. The Quantity Surveyor will play a key role in supporting the cost management and procurement functions across multiple schemes at various stages of the development lifecycle.
The Quantity Surveyor Role
The successful Quantity Surveyor will support senior consultants and project managers, providing robust cost management throughout pre-contract and post-contract phases. You will be responsible for maintaining accurate cost reporting, managing contract administration duties, and ensuring commercial compliance across all projects.
This Quantity Surveyor position will suit someone with a proactive attitude, strong attention to detail, and a passion for delivering high standards within a consultancy environment.
Quantity Surveyor - Key Responsibilities
Preparing detailed cost plans and estimates from feasibility through to construction Managing the tender process, including preparation of documents and analysis of contractor proposals Conducting value engineering exercises and cost option appraisals Preparing monthly cost reports for clients, including forecasts and risk analysis Administering contracts, tracking change control, and ensuring proper documentation is maintained Liaising with consultants, contractors, and clients to ensure smooth project deliveryQuantity Surveyor - Candidate Requirements
Minimum 3+ years' Quantity Surveying experience, ideally within a consultancy or client-side role Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or a construction-related field MRICS or working towards APC is preferred Proven experience in pre- and post-contract cost management Strong commercial awareness and understanding of UK procurement routes Previous experience working on London-based projects is desirableIn Return
