QUANTITY SURVEYOR (FTC MATERNITY COVER)
Location: Reading
Salary: £80,000 £90,000 per annum
Contract: 12-month fixed-term (with potential to go permanent)
The Role
A leading design & build commercial interiors contractor is seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join their commercial team on a 12-month maternity cover contract.
The business delivers fast-paced interior fit-out projects ranging from £500k to £20m, with a typical project value of £1.5m£4.5m. This role will take ownership of multiple live projects, working closely with the delivery and design teams to manage costs across the full lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
  • Full commercial management of D&B interior fit-out projects
  • Preparing and managing project budgets and cost plans
  • Procurement of subcontractors and supplier packages
  • Managing valuations, variations, and final accounts
  • Cost reporting and forecasting across multiple projects
  • Supporting project teams with commercial strategy and risk mitigation
  • Liaising with clients, consultants, and subcontractors
Requirements
  • Proven Quantity Surveying experience within interior fit-out or refurbishment
  • Strong understanding of Design & Build contracts
  • Experience managing projects in the £1m£10m+ range
  • Commercially driven with strong cost control capability
  • Excellent stakeholder and subcontractor management skills
  • Degree qualified or equivalent preferred
