Quantity Surveyor - Retrofit

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join a leading national property services contractor delivering large‑scale retrofit and energy‑efficiency programmes across social housing and occupied property portfolios.

We are looking for a commercially minded QS with experience in refurbishment, planned works or retrofit‑focused environments, who can support the successful delivery of high‑quality, compliance‑driven projects.

The Role

As Quantity Surveyor, you will play a key role in managing the commercial aspects of multiple retrofit schemes including insulation upgrades, window and door replacements, decarbonisation works, and wider energy‑efficiency improvements. Responsibilities include:

Managing commercial performance across retrofit workstreams
Preparing cost plans, estimates, valuations and final accounts
Ensuring compliance with funding requirements (e.g. SHDF, ECO, PAS standards)
Procuring subcontractors and evaluating quotes
Managing variations, change control and contractual documentation
Providing accurate commercial reporting and forecasts
Working closely with delivery teams to ensure projects run efficiently and profitably
Building strong relationships with clients, supply chain and internal stakeholders

About You

We're looking for someone who brings:

Experience as a QS within construction, maintenance, refurbishment or retrofit
Strong commercial and contractual understanding (NEC experience desirable)
Ability to work across multiple sites and manage competing priorities
Excellent communication and negotiation skills
A proactive, detail‑focused approach with strong financial acumen
