A reputable main contractor with a strong track record in high-quality cut & carve and complex refurbishment projects is seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join its expanding commercial team. Based across sites in South West London and Surrey , this role offers the opportunity to work on technically challenging schemes with a collaborative and forward-thinking contractor.
The Role
You will take commercial responsibility for a range of refurbishment and structural alteration projects, ensuring effective cost management from start to finish. Key responsibilities include:
Managing subcontractor procurement, negotiation, and package administration
Preparing valuations, variations, cost reports, and final accounts
Working closely with site teams to ensure accurate forecasting and cost control
Supporting contract administration and compliance with company processes
Conducting site measurements, cost analysis, and risk assessments
Liaising with clients, consultants, and internal teams to maintain strong relationships
Contributing to tender reviews and commercial strategy
About You
Experience as a QS within a main contracting environment
Ideally from a Tier 1 or major Tier 2 contractor background
Strong understanding of cut & carve, heavy refurbishment, or structural alteration projects
Excellent commercial awareness and contract knowledge
Strong communication, negotiation, and organisational skills
Comfortable working across live sites and managing multiple work packages
Proactive, detail-focused, and team-oriented
