Working on behalf of a well-established and growing groundworks contractor, currently looking to appoint an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join their commercial team.This is an excellent opportunity to join a reputable contractor delivering high-quality groundworks and civil engineering packages across residential and commercial developments, with the added benefit of gaining exposure to estimating as part of the role.The RoleAs Quantity Surveyor, you will take responsibility for the commercial management of multiple groundworks projects from pre-contract through to final account. Youll work closely with operational teams, clients, and subcontractors to ensure projects are delivered on budget and in line with contractual requirements.You will also have the opportunity to support the pre-construction team, gaining valuable experience in estimating and tendering activities.Key ResponsibilitiesManaging project costs from inception to completionPreparing, reviewing, and negotiating subcontractor packagesValuations, variations, and final accountsCost reporting and forecastingLiaising with clients, site teams, and commercial managementEnsuring compliance with contractual terms and risk managementSupporting tendering, pricing, and estimating activitiesAssisting with procurement strategiesWhat we are looking for in the successful candidate:Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor within groundworks or civil engineeringStrong understanding of NEC and/or JCT contractsCommercially astute with excellent negotiation skillsAbility to manage multiple projects simultaneouslyStrong communication and stakeholder management skillsDegree in Quantity SurveyingWhat our client can offer in return:Salary up to £60k DOEWorking hours Monday to Friday 8am to 5pmOpportunity to join a stable and growing contractorExposure to estimating and pre-construction, supporting career developmentLong-term career progressionSupportive and collaborative working environmentProfit share scheme after 12 months serviceJBRP1_UKTJ
