Engineering @365 is working with a well-established construction company delivering high-quality projects across the region. Due to continued growth, the company is seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join their team in Leicester.
About the Role
This is a full-time hybrid role for a Quantity Surveyor – Construction, based in Leicester. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing on-site contracts, preparing and placing subcontract packages, overseeing project budgets, completing monthly valuations, and producing detailed cost reports.
You will work closely with project teams to ensure financial efficiency, commercial compliance, and successful project delivery. This role offers some flexibility to work from home alongside site and office responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities

Manage on-site commercial activities across multiple construction projects.

Prepare, issue, and negotiate subcontract packages.
*
Monitor and manage project budgets, ensuring effective cost control.
*
Complete monthly valuations and manage applications for payment.
*
Produce accurate cost reports and forecasts for internal and client review.
*
Track project expenditure and provide regular financial updates to stakeholders.
*
Identify commercial risks and opportunities throughout the project lifecycle.
*
Work collaboratively with project managers and site teams to ensure financial targets are met.
*
Maintain accurate commercial records and documentation.
What We’re Looking For
*
Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related discipline.
*
Strong experience in cost control, cost management, and cost planning within construction.
*
Experience in placing subcontractors; familiarity with Construction Manager procurement routes is advantageous.
*
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
*
Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
*
Strong communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
*
Proficiency in relevant project management and commercial software tools.
*
Professional membership (e.g., RICS) is desirable.
