Quantity SurveyorLocation: Warrington (Hybrid) Sector: Water / Utilities / Infrastructure Type: PermanentAbout the RoleAn established engineering and infrastructure contractor is seeking a Quantity Surveyor to join its commercial team supporting a major water and wastewater asset maintenance framework across the North West.This is an excellent opportunity to join a long-term framework delivering large-scale maintenance and improvement works across a broad portfolio of clean water and wastewater treatment assets. The role offers exposure to a high-volume programme of works within a collaborative, fast-paced and technically interesting environment.The successful candidate will provide commercial support across a portfolio of projects, helping to ensure works are procured effectively, delivered within budget and managed in line with contractual requirements. You will play a key role in identifying and managing commercial risks and opportunities, while supporting the wider commercial team in driving strong project outcomes.Key Responsibilities Commercially manage your own portfolio of projects from development stage through to final accountSupport the preparation and issue of accurate, timely and contractually compliant notices and correspondenceMaintain registers for variations, delays, extensions of time and claimsAssist with the preparation of monthly valuations and applications for paymentProduce monthly cost reports, forecasts and contract budget reportsLiaise collaboratively with client and employer commercial teams to maximise opportunities and improve project outcomesSupport pre-contract tender negotiations and prepare associated reports where requiredContribute to value engineering / value management exercisesAdvise on risk management and participate in commercial risk workshopsPrepare, review and complete subcontract documentationReview subcontract tender enquiries and support subcontract procurementIdentify, assess and price specification changes / compensation events / variationsManage subcontract packages from order placement through to final accountAttend site meetings as required, monitor progress and support best commercial practiceReconcile weekly plant, labour and material costs against budgetMonitor cashflow and support timely payment processes Requirements Previous experience in a Quantity Surveyor or similar commercial role within construction, utilities or infrastructureExperience administering or working under NEC contractsPrevious experience in the water sector is highly desirable, though other infrastructure sector backgrounds will also be consideredGood understanding of commercial reporting, cost analysis, forecasting and budget controlExperience assessing compensation events / variationsUnderstanding of commercial risk management processes for both cost and programmeExperience of, or appreciation for, Earned Value Management (EVM)Strong working knowledge of Excel and commercial systems QualificationsEssential Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or equivalentRICS / CICES accredited degree, or working toward a relevant postgraduate qualification with at least 3 years' relevant experienceFull UK driving licence Desirable Membership of RICS or CICES, or currently working toward chartership What's on offer?
