Where will you be working?

We help our clients safeguard the water supply, improve environmental performance and manage demand for future generations. We enhance and extend asset life, ensuring compliance with water quality and environmental standards.  We’re problem solvers with over 140 years of combined experience in engineering and infrastructure.

This role will be within our water and wastewater capital project delivery team. Our teams deliver large-scale capital programmes aimed at keeping water infrastructure resilient for the long-term while protecting the environment.

What will you be doing? 

Are you a commercially astute Quantity Surveyor looking for a new challenge? We want you to join our dynamic team and be a key part of delivering projects that keep the nation flowing.

As our Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for the procurement and management of sub-contractor applications and payments, as well as overseeing cash flow and aged debt reporting. You thrive on being a key player in managing the financial aspects of the AMP8 frameworks across varied clients including COSTAIN, United Utilities and Yorkshire Water. The role is not simply about managing finances, but also involves working with a team of skilled professionals to ensure successful project outcomes.

You'll drive value engineering, manage contractor relationships and ensure projects deliver on time and on budget. Cost management expertise are required to prepare accurate estimates and budgets, monitor expenditure against forecasts and implement cost control measures. Your day to day activities will include providing sound commercial advice and being involved in the change management processes. This role would really suit somebody who is passionate about ensuring the profitability and success of projects.

What you’ll bring

Previous experience with Quantity Surveying preferred 
BSc in Commercial Management / Quantity Surveying or other related subject is desirable but not essential if you can demonstrate relevant experience within our sector
Capability and desire to identify opportunities for improvement
Analytic mindset with attention to detail
Full driving licence as there will be an element of site based travel involved within the role
To be an effective negotiator at both internal and client levels
Assist with the production and presentation of Monthly CVR’s/profit and loss accounts
