Are you a commercially astute Quantity Surveyor with experience in infrastructure or groundworks?
Would you like to be part of a flagship development delivering over 4,500 homes, 4 million sq ft of employment space, and critical infrastructure across a multi-phase, long-term project?
One of the UK’s most ambitious urban extensions — Milton Keynes East — is underway, and we're seeking a Quantity Surveyor to join the team.
The Project
A £multi-billion sustainable urban expansion east of the M1 comprising:
*
4,500 new homes
*
4 million sq ft of employment space
*
Schools, community facilities, and highways infrastructure
*
Initial works include roads, bridges, structures, and utilities to unlock phased residential delivery
Your Role
You’ll be joining the team at a pivotal stage, taking ownership of live infrastructure packages and supporting future phases:
Current responsibilities:
*
Oversee final stages of the NEC Option A Phase 1 infrastructure package (Laing O'Rourke)
*
Manage two live packages with Statom (River Ouzel RC Bridge - £8.9m & Primary Street highways - £5.2m)
*
Day-to-day duties include payment applications, valuations, change control, and final accounts
Looking ahead:
*
Get involved in the procurement and commercial management of future infrastructure packages – some up to £40m
*
Long-term opportunity to move into the residential delivery side as the project evolves
✅ What We’re Looking For
We’re open-minded on background but ideally, you’ll have:
*
Experience with groundworks, infrastructure, or civils
*
Background with a residential developer, main contractor, or specialist subcontractor
*
NEC contract knowledge is advantageous, but not essential
*
Strong valuation, cost control, and subcontract management skills

Up to £70,000 basic salary (Senior QS title available for experienced candidates)

Working Hours & Flexibility

Office based in Milton Keynes (with at least 1 day/week on site)
*
Future site-based role as the project develops
*
1 day/week from home (subject to agreement)
*
Standard hours: 8am–5pm, with flexibility (core hours: 9am–4pm)
*
Early finish Fridays (typically 4pm – not contractual)
