A manufacturing company in Tayside is hiring a Senior R&D Technician to join a small, specialist team. The role is hands-on and varied youll be working across materials processing, prototype assembly, and product evaluation, with real involvement in development projects from start to finish.

What youll be doing

Processing specialist materials and substrates using a range of specialist materials and compounds
Supporting the build and teardown of prototype components
Setting up and operating process, inspection, and measurement equipment
Writing test procedures and reports, and presenting findings to internal stakeholders
Monitoring project timelines and flagging risks early

What youll need

Experience in a technical laboratory or clean room environment is essential. You should be comfortable working with specialist materials to tight tolerances, operating precision inspection equipment, and producing clear, accurate technical documentation.

A background in specialist electronic or electromechanical components would be advantageous, as would familiarity with environmental and dynamic testing methods.

Attention to detail, problem-solving ability, and confidence working with limited supervision are all important here.
