Are you a passionate and nurturing Teaching Assistant with strong phonics experience?

Milk Education is working in partnership with a welcoming and inclusive primary school in Newham (E12) to recruit a dedicated Reception Teaching Assistant to join their Early Years team.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who thrives in an EYFS setting and is confident supporting early reading and phonics development.

The Role:

Supporting pupils within a Reception class

Delivering and reinforcing daily phonics sessions (e.g. Read Write Inc., Little Wandle or similar schemes)

Working 1:1 and in small groups to support early literacy development

Assisting with classroom preparation and continuous provision

Encouraging positive behaviour and engagement in learning

Supporting children’s social, emotional and academic development

✅ The Ideal Candidate Will:

Have recent experience working within EYFS or Reception

Have strong knowledge and hands-on experience delivering phonics interventions

Be confident supporting early reading, blending and segmenting

Have a patient, nurturing and proactive approach

Hold a relevant Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant qualification (desirable but not essential)

Have an enhanced DBS on the update service (or be willing to apply for one)
