Location: Haringey, North London (N15)
Salary: £90 – £100 per day (dependent on experience)
Job Type: Full-Time | Temporary (Approx. 4 Weeks)
Start Date: ASAP
Salary dependent on experience and qualifications. Higher rates are reserved for candidates with substantial experience and/or relevant training. Pay is determined in line with school expectations and Agency Worker Regulations (AWR), where applicable.
About the Role
We are seeking a confident and experienced Reception Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in Haringey for a short-term block booking of approximately 4 weeks.
This is a fantastic opportunity to work within a high-needs Reception class, supporting early development and delivering focused phonics interventions. You will be working with small groups of up to 12 pupils, playing a key role in helping children build strong foundational skills.
Key Responsibilities
• Support teaching and learning within a high-needs Reception class
• Deliver targeted phonics sessions (ideally using Read Write Inc.)
• Work with small groups of pupils (up to 12) to support learning and engagement
• Provide additional support for children with special educational needs (SEN)
• Assist the class teacher in creating a positive and inclusive learning environment
• Monitor pupil progress and provide feedback where required

Requirements
• Previous experience working in a Reception or Early Years setting
• Strong understanding of phonics (experience with Read Write Inc. highly desirable)
• Experience supporting children with SEN or high needs
• Ability to confidently lead small group interventions
• Patient, proactive, and adaptable approach
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
