We are seeking a Recognition and Benefits Assistant to join our team based at our Head Office in London Bridge.
This role involves travelling to other Southeastern sites across the network as required and offers hybrid working with the option to work up to 2 days a week from home, based on business needs.

What you’ll do
Reporting to the Recognition and Benefits Manager, your role will be to manage and streamline the administration processes of HR recognition programs, employee benefits, and related processes.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Administering the company’s reward schemes, ensuring vouchers are stored, issued, and recorded according to company procedures, and all nominations are processed promptly.
- Organising award ceremonies for long service, retirements, and reward schemes, including preparing speech material and gifts.
- Administering new company benefits schemes for eligible employees.
- Managing the flexible benefit scheme, ensuring new employees receive relevant information and advising managers on scheme uptake.
- Informing payroll of pay adjustments and leavers’ balances.
- Administering private medical insurance for eligible managers and providing general advice.
- Ensuring timely submission of benefit information for taxation purposes.
- Managing the interface with Rail Staff Travel, maintaining service levels, and updating on new entrants, leavers, and transfers.
- Liaising with other TOCs over reciprocal travel arrangements.
- Managing duty travel records and stocks, and addressing travel irregularities.
- Supporting the Recognition and Benefits Manager as needed.
The Experience You’ll Need
- Good knowledge of IT systems, including Word and Excel.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well with people at all levels.
- Extensive administrative experience, including report preparation and record keeping.
- Strong interpersonal and verbal/written communication skills.
- Highly organised and able to work under pressure.
- Flexible, proactive, and team-oriented approach.
Additional Information
The salary for this role is pending a 2025 pay reward; once confirmed, the salary will increase accordingly.
