Right now, we are looking for a Recovery Worker to play a pivotal role in our Highbury Grove Recovery House in Highbury.
Sounds great, what will I be doing?
In this role, the postholder will support individuals identified as needing early intervention or preventative mental health support by managing a caseload and delivering group activities and programmes that promote recovery and empowerment. They will clearly communicate the service's aims and pathways to ensure service users can fully participate and co-produce their support. The role involves helping clients engage effectively with external professionals and services, including mental health teams, housing providers, and job centres, while also developing peer support networks and community-based activities that align with users' goals and aspirations. Working flexibly as part of a team, the postholder will ensure service coverage and contractual obligations are met, contribute to the safety and wellbeing of all service users, and support colleagues in day-to-day operations. They will maintain high standards of administration and record-keeping, ensure confidentiality, and carry out referrals, assessments, and service reviews in a timely and effective manner. Active participation in supervision, appraisals, and ongoing development is also a key part of the role.

Here's what the team will be looking for
The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience working with individuals experiencing mental health challenges and/or dual diagnosis, with a strong understanding of relevant mental health legislation, safeguarding, and the principles of recovery-oriented practice. They will demonstrate sensitivity and respect in their approach, with the ability to communicate effectively and support individuals with dignity. The role requires sound knowledge of local mental health and wellbeing services, as well as recovery tools and case management practices, including risk assessment. The successful candidate will be confident working both independently and as part of a team, with the capability to induct and support new peer staff and volunteers. They will have experience in planning and delivering added value initiatives such as events, group activities, and placements, and will be comfortable working with statutory and community partners. Excellent communication, time management, and organisational skills are essential, along with the ability to remain dynamic and effective under pressure. Strong IT, literacy, and numeracy skills are required, including the ability to use MS Word, Outlook, and the internet to produce professional written correspondence and maintain accurate records.
