The Reference Data Services Group Manager is accountable for management of complex/critical/large professional disciplinary areas. Leads and directs a team of professionals. Requires a comprehensive understanding of multiple areas within a function and how they interact in order to achieve the objectives of the function. Applies in-depth understanding of the business impact of technical contributions. Strong commercial awareness is a necessity. Generally accountable for delivery of a full range of services to one or more businesses/ geographic regions. Excellent communication skills required in order to negotiate internally, often at a senior level. Some external communication may be necessary. Accountable for the end results of an area. Exercises control over resources, policy formulation and planning. Primarily affects a sub-function. Involved in short- to medium-term planning of actions and resources for own area. Full management responsibility of a team or multiple teams, including management of people, budget and planning, to include performance evaluation, compensation, hiring, disciplinary actions and terminations and budget approval.
What you'll do:
- Review and assess impact of regulation changes
- Engage with Operations teams to comply with Citi's common policies
- Coordinate with senior management to ensure compliance with Managers Control Assessment for the GAU
- Manage complex and highly varying issues with significant potential impact on multiple operations' areas.
- Lead projects, resolves escalated operations' issues and/ or offer solutions at an advanced level, providing strategic direction for departments managed.
- Liaise with multiple Operations teams/departments.
- Serve as analytical and/or procedural expert, representing a unit or team on cross functional processes or project deliverables.
- Stay abreast of the organization's operational procedures and best practices in business strategy and process/quality improvements; using such knowledge to recommend customized business solutions to internal clients.
- Serve as subject matter expert in business, planning and analysis for operations area supported.
- Act as advisor or coach to new or lower level personnel on operational processes/procedures across multiple functions and/or departments.
- Provide in-depth and sophisticated analysis with interpretive thinking to define problems, develop innovative solutions, and streamline operational processes.
- Responsible managing overall resource management and allocation of work for assigned operations area for multiple teams/projects
- Full management responsibility of an Operations department, including management of people, budget and planning.
- Drive end results of an area and exercises control over resources, policy formulation and planning.
- Engage in short to medium-term planning of actions and resources for own area.
- Manage complex and highly variable issues with substantial departmental/product impact.
- Experience in Data Ops or Regulatory Operations
- Detailed understanding of control requirements and Citi's policies
- Exceptional track record in people leadership
- Ability to Influence and negotiate with senior leaders ; ability to communicate with external parties
- Directly impacts the business by influencing strategic functional decisions through advice, counsel or provided service
- Bachelor's/University degree, Master's degree preferred
