Regional Director of Engineering UK

Millennium Hotels and Resorts UK are seeking a Regional Director of Engineering UK will be responsible for overseeing the building services of group hotel properties and related plant & equipment, and ensuring the assets are repaired and well-maintained at optimum efficiency

Our Regional Director of Engineering UK will be entrusted to oversee all areas and associates of the Engineering operation, including both planned preventative and reactive maintenance, as well as the building fabric and all associated services of the entire hotel.

The Regional Director of Engineering will be responsible for:

Achieve savings by reviewing all Engineering and Projects by Value Engineering (VE) process Provide advice to senior management on all aspects of engineering support, environmental controls and the operational efficiency of building services within the group hotels. Procure and manage the preparation and execution of reactive and preventative maintenance plans for all group hotels. Plan, implement and administer an energy management program by establishing energy reduction objectives, the maintenance of records and regular reporting of performance against these objectives. Ensure adherence to all statutory regulations and fire life safety codes by regularly reviewing policies and safety procedures. Ensure that any tests and inspections required on equipment are carried out and records are maintained. Review SOW, quotations of all Engineering capex and Project capex, discuss with GMs the requirement and justification of capex, negotiate with suppliers after VE to achieve better price and quality product for M&C. Discuss each capex with VP Finance prior to final approval. Ensure all relevant H&S and building codes and relevant ordinance requirements are met and all building department requirements and submissions are submitted, and final approval is achieved. Visit all properties, conduct Annual Engineering Audit as per M&C Policy While this is a strategic role, we expect our leaders to be able to be heavily involved in supporting their engineering teams at a technical level when required. You collaborate and align with leaders across the organization, identifying opportunities and wider-requirements for the engineering/ technical strategy, impacts and outcomes.

The Regional Director of Engineering UK will have:

College or University Diploma/ Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering Previous experience within a hotel environment, preferably within a multi-site company · Demonstrate motivational leadership skills, problem solving, planning and organising, decision making, prioritising, delegating and training & developing subordinates for succession planning. Ability to coordinate a number of projects to address detailed issues whilst maintaining a strategic overview. Proven record of successful experience in management, budgeting, goal setting and achieving all aspects of Hotel and Building Services Engineering.
