What you'll be doing:
We are seeking an experienced and strategic Regional Financial Controller to support the Regional Director in all financial aspects of the region. This role is crucial for ensuring accurate, timely, and insightful financial information is available to support key business decisions, including strategic planning and budgeting. You will play a vital part in optimising business performance through robust financial analysis and controls, while also driving continuous improvement and integrating sustainability factors into financial processes.
Financial Leadership & Reporting: Ensure accurate and timely financial information is available. Support all aspects of management accounting, project financial management, and bid activities. Spearhead the development and delivery of consistent, high-quality management reporting. Responsible for a wide range of projects totalling £250m revenue.
Team Management & Development: Strategically lead and develop a large regional finance team over multiple locations, fostering a culture of continuous learning, high performance, and succession planning.
Strategic Contribution: Contribute to regional strategic planning and budgeting processes, providing financial insights to shape the direction of the business unit. Support new business growth opportunities and contract retention with financial analysis and insights.
Stakeholder Management: Serve as a key finance partner to Divisional teams and work closely with stakeholders across operations, transformation, and data analytics. Build and maintain strong relationships with senior management and auditors
Sustainability Focus: Integrate environmental, social, and governance (ESG) factors into financial planning, reporting, and decision-making. Analyse and report on the financial implications of sustainability initiatives, aligning with the "Green Up" strategy.
What we are looking for:
ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualified
Deep and broad post qualification experience in a senior finance leadership role.
Strong technical accounting knowledge and robust business acumen.
Strong budgeting and forecasting skills
Exceptional leadership skills with the ability to inspire and empower teams.
Experience in managing a team over multiple locations
Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to influence and negotiate all levels.
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Excellent interpersonal and organisational skills required
