Main Responsibilities
Lead and develop regional VMU teams, driving operational excellence. Ensure full compliance with Operator License requirements and vehicle maintenance standards in your region. Manage regional Op-Ex budgets, ensuring cost-effective delivery. Oversee workshop compliance, safety, and ISO accreditation activities. Implement training and development for VMU teams. Lead incident investigations and coordinate remedial actions. Support efficiency and sustainability initiatives across workshops. Drive continuous improvement in fleet availability, cost, and quality metrics. Engage with Trade Unions.
The Ideal Candidate You will bring proven experience in managing fleet or workshop operations, along with a demonstrable track record of working within the requirements of an Operator's License. Your background will include an in-depth understanding of transport legislation, compliance standards, and industry best practice. Success in this role requires a confident, proactive leader with exceptional people management, communication, and organisational skills. You'll be someone who can motivate teams, drive high performance, and maintain rigorous compliance across all operational areas. Qualifications
Transport Managers Certificate of Professional Competence. NVQ / City & Guilds in Motor Vehicle Engineering. IOSH certification. Experience with fleet compliance software or systems.
