Job Description
Our Client is a leading UK wide Building and Civils main contractor with over 40 years’ experience. \n\nThey currently require a Regional HSE Manager (Building) to join them and cover the Edinburgh and central belt area of Scotland/\n\nThe successful candidate would ideally be from the local area and you will be required to cover several sites throughout the region \n\nProjects range in value from £20 – 100million\n\nPackages £55 - £60k plus car/car allowance/travel card will be Negotiable DOE \n\nKey Responsibilities\n\nUndertake regular inspections and audits in keeping with an agreed programme in all operating regions and report accordingly. \n\nInvestigate and report on incidents, dangerous occurrences, ill health and near misses.\n\nPrepare and present relevant statistics.\n\nAdvise and assist site and office based staff on all aspects of the Company’s Safety, Health and Environmental Management Systems and procedures.\n\nSource, plan and also deliver training to employees as required to recognised/acceptable standards.\n\nContinual promotion of the health and safety ethos and culture at all levels in the Company and with sub- contractors.\n\nPreparation of Construction Phase Health and Safety Plans the site with assistance from site staff.\n\nRespond to tender pre-qualification questionnaires and contribute to quality submissions.\n\nAssess competence of sub- contractors.\n\nAttend and contribute to health and safety meetings at site, regional and Company level.\n\nLiaise with Client bodies and attend meetings as instructed by the Health & Safety Director.\n\nContribute to and develop appropriate health and safety, as well as environmental initiatives as required by the Health & Safety Director.\n\nPrepare and distribute regular health and safety alerts as required.\n\nLiaise with the Company Insurance Department in respect of insurance claims and related court hearings.\n\nContribute to the development of operating procedures and other aspects of the Safety, Health and Environmental Management Systems.\n\nThe successful candidate will possess the following essential qualities; \n\nProfessionally qualified within SHEQ field (NEBOSH).\n\nProven track record as an operational HSE Advisor within the Construction industry.\n\nThorough knowledge of current Health, Safety and Environmental legislation.\n\nEvidence of working knowledge of quality standards, audit procedures and integrated management systems.\n\nAccident and incident investigation experience.\n\nExcellent oral and written communication skills.\n\nEvidence of working effectively within a team.\n\nIT literate.\n\nA full driving license.\n\nCSCS Card
