Contract: PermanentThe OpportunityKindsight Recruitment is supporting the appointment of an experienced Registered Manager for a childrens residential home supporting young people aged 718 with Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties (EBD) in Great Barr.This is a leadership role requiring a confident, child-centred manager who can deliver therapeutic, trauma-informed care, ensure regulatory excellence, and build a stable, high-performing team.You will have full responsibility for the day-to-day operation of the home, maintaining compliance with Childrens Homes (England) Regulations 2015 and working towards sustained Good or Outstanding Ofsted outcomes.Key ResponsibilitiesLeadership & Operational ManagementProvide strong, child-centred leadership to the residential teamEnsure full compliance with Childrens Homes Regulations (2015) and Quality StandardsDevelop and review the Statement of PurposeMaintain policies, procedures, and safeguarding cultureOversee health & safety and risk management within the homeCreate a positive, structured, and nurturing environmentSupport for Children with EBDOversee admissions, assessments, and placement stabilityLead on care planning, behaviour management strategies, and risk assessmentsChampion trauma-informed and therapeutic approachesEnsure childrens voices are heard and embedded into planningSupport transition planning and preparation for independencePromote inclusion within the local communitySafeguarding & ComplianceAct as Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL)Prepare and lead the home through Ofsted inspectionsOversee Reg 44 and Reg 45 reportingEmbed a strong safeguarding culture across the serviceStaff Management & DevelopmentRecruit, supervise, and develop staffConduct supervisions and appraisalsEnsure therapeutic and professional development pathwaysLead continuous improvement planningManage staffing cover and rota stabilityFinancial & Administrative OversightManage budgets, staffing levels, and resourcesEnsure GDPR-compliant record keepingReport performance to senior leadershipEssential CriteriaLevel 5 Diploma in Leadership & Management for Residential Childcare (or equivalent)Minimum 2 years experience as a Registered Manager or Deputy within childrens residential careProven experience working with EBD, trauma, and complex behavioursStrong knowledge of Childrens Homes (England) Regulations 2015 and Ofsted frameworkEnhanced DBS & Full UK Driving LicenceAbility to participate in on-call rotaDesirableExperience achieving Good or Outstanding Ofsted ratingsTherapeutic or trauma-informed trainingExperience supporting children with ASD, ADHD, or additional needsWhats on OfferCompetitive salary up to £65,000 DOEBonus structure28 days annual leave + bank holidaysOpportunity to lead a therapeutic EBD serviceSupportive senior leadershipCareer progression within a growing organisationInterested?If you are an experienced EBD Registered Manager seeking a strong leadership role in Great Barr, wed like to speak with you.??
