Regulatory Solicitor – Leeds

The Opportunity:
A rare and exciting, 2nd in command opportunity has arisen for a Senior Regulatory Solicitor (ideally 6+ years PQE) to join a dynamic and fast-growing regulatory practice at a leading, L500 UK law firm. This is a genuine chance to make your mark in a team known for its high-calibre client base, complex matters and entrepreneurial culture.

Key Responsibilities

• Acting as second-in-command within a rapidly expanding team
• Managing a broad caseload spanning health and safety, environmental law, consumer protection, food safety, product regulation, licensing and transport law
• Handling high-profile, often sensitive matters including current instructions on multiple fatality investigations and proceedings involving the HSE and CPS
• Delivering strategic, day-to-day advisory and contentious work (inquests, inquiries, criminal defence, civil penalties, etc)
• Supervising and mentoring junior lawyers
• Leading on key client accounts and legal workstreams
• Playing an active role in client development through training, seminars and networking

About You:

• Ideally 6+ years PQE with demonstrable expertise in regulatory law, particularly across multiple relevant areas (H&S, environmental, trading standards, food/product safety, transport, etc)
• A confident and capable operator who can manage complex matters independently and act as a trusted advisor to clients
• Previous experience supervising junior fee earners and contributing to team development
• Strong commercial awareness and a client-focused approach
